Hello John and Doves,
There were two very important things that happened in history on Nissan 10 (The 10th day of the first month.)
1) On Nissan 10, the whole nation of Israel crossed over the Jordan River into the land God promised them.
They were to mourn Moses' death the required 30 days. The Lord told Joshua to prepare the people for within 3 days they would possess the Promised Land. So, Joshua told them to "consecrate themselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you." (Joshua 3:5) Three days after the 30 days of mourning they carried the Ark of the Covenant with them and the people crossed over.
Joshua 4:19 "On the tenth day of the first month the people went up from the Jordan..."
The Lord was very specific in the timing of this day...this day was to be commemorated forever - this is the day "Israel crossed the Jordan on dry ground".
2) On Nissan 10, Jesus rode the donkey into Jerusalem - the 'triumphant entry'. Jesus wept when He saw Jerusalem because the people missed seeing 'the Kingdom of God' that was right before their eyes. God was there ready to enter Jerusalem and be proclaimed King and she missed Him.
Zechariah: 9:9 "Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout in triumph, O daughter of Jerusalem! See, your King comes to you, righteous and victorious, gentle and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey....Then He will proclaim peace to the nations: His dominion will extend from sea to sea, and from the Euphrates to the ends of the earth."
This was prophesied to happen but it was suppose to be a 'triumphant entry'! A HUGE celebration! God has come down to you, O Jerusalem! Shout for joy! They sang "Hosanna to the Son of David" and "Hosanna in the highest", and "Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!" (Matthew 21:9), they spread their cloaks and palm branches before Him on the road....but that's about as far as the prophecy got - the last part was left unfulfilled - He did not proclaim peace to the nations, He did not take dominion to the ends of the earth. This prophecy ended prematurely. As if 'the prophetic clock' had stopped right there.
Nissan 10 was THE day chosen by God to bring His people into the land He'd promised them. This is also the day chosen by God to bring the King to Jerusalem. Nissan 10 was very important in God's prophetic plan.
Will this be the chosen day that God starts that prophetic clock and brings His people into the place He's promised them (He took His people across the Jordan to the Promised Land, He will take His people in the Rapture to the Promised Land)? To finish the prophecies where He proclaims peace to the nations and takes dominion from sea to sea and all things will be completed?
John 14:3 "When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am."
This year Nissan 10 is on April 14/15 sunset to sunset on the chabad.org calendar. On the torahcalendar.com Nissan 10 is on April 15/16 sunset to sunset. If one uses the new moon (April 5) or the visible sliver (April 7) this will change the dates by a day or so. https://www.moongiant.com/calendar/April/2019/
We have other dates to mark on our calendar also this Spring that are high watch days.
Maranatha!
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem!
