"received not the love of the truth"

There will be those who first do not receive "the love of the truth".
Then for that cause, the LORD sends them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie.
Therefore they will not have believed the truth, and thus be damned.

II Thessalonians 2:10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

It says, first, that "they received not the love of the truth".
It does not say that "they received not the truth".
It also does not say "they believed not the truth".
But rather that "they received not the love of the truth".
To receive the love of the truth or to not receive the love of the truth, seemed to be the first step.
When the truth came to us who believe, thank the LORD that we did not hate the truth, turn from the truth, or resist the truth.

II Timothy 3:8 Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.

The truth is the word of God:

John 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

It is necessary to receive the word of God, not resist it:

I Thessalonians  2:13 For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.

That is the only way that we are able to believe, to receive faith by hearing the word of God:

Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Thank the LORD that we desired to hear the word of God, instead, as did others:

Acts 13:7 Which was with the deputy of the country, Sergius Paulus, a prudent man; who called for Barnabas and Saul, and desired to hear the word of God.

Acts 13:44 And the next sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God.

Luke 10:39 And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard his word.

Acts 2:41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

So, it would seem that those spoken of in II Thessalonians 2, are those that do not gladly receive his word.
That, sadly, will lead to them being sent them strong delusion.
That will lead to them believing a lie.
When they believe the lie, they do not believe the truth, and thus will be damned.
To be saved we must believe the truth:

Acts 16:31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

So what will be that lie which they believe instead?
Will it be a lie against Jesus?
Will it be a lie that will deny Jesus?
Will it be a lie about some one else beside Jesus?
