The 2016 U.S. presidential election divided the country like no other previous one. Never have I seen emotions run so high. Yet it was only an imperfect shadow of the real battle over rulership between the Son of God and the Serpent that has raged for 6000 years and is about to come to a conclusion. Did you ever wonder why Jesus commanded us to watch for His appearing and why there is a crown for those who love His appearing? The answer is found in this one fact: Those who belong to Him long for His coming to rule and reign; their hope is in the Lord and He already reigns in their heart. Those who are of the world, no matter what religious label they wear, have said in their hearts, “we will not have this Man (Jesus) to rule over us” They may give lip service to God, human rights, and tolerance but their hope is in the things of this world and ultimately in the god of this world. This, my brothers and sisters, is the great dividing line. The battle is so fierce because it’s winner take all and the final victory is at the door. What the prophets saw from afar, is about to come to pass before our eyes:

Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this. Isaiah 9:7

“In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence. He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all nations and peoples of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed. Daniel 7:13,14
