"Response to Sherry Vance (28 Dec 2014)

Sherry:

Thank you for your response.  I really appreciate you taking the time to give me instruction.  I have not spent any serious time studying the Jubilee.  I am certainly not gifted in mathematics.  I am interested in the truth.   So, forgive my questions if they seem sophomoric.

Jubilee Calculation:

I have read your response and the Sabbatical/Jubilee Timeline article.  I note that your count is in multiples of 49 years, so 10 Jubilee cycles totals 490 years.  Correct ?

If so, then the Rabbi Judah Ben Samuel dates are incorrect because his counts appear in 50 year increments.  1217-1517=300 years, 1517-1917=400 years (8 Jubilees 8x50).  It would appear that the Rabbi does not count the 50th year as the first year of the next cycle or his 8 Jubilees would have been 392 years, not 400. Rabbi's 9th Jubilee was 1917-1967.   Up to this point in the calculation your dates for 1917 and 1967 match, but they are falling behind one year in each cycle based on the Rabbi's calculation.

Your years 1917-1918, 1917-1966 both work for Balfour and East Jerusalem in this Jubilee window.  However, based on your 49 Year interval, the next Jubilee is 2015-2016.   This date does not follow the Rabbi's prediction missing it by 2 years because he was using a 50-year increment.

Based on the Rabbi's math, assuming 1917 and 1967 are correct, 2017 experiences a Jubilee.  Does it begin at Atonement 2016 or 2017 ?   I would expect 2017 based on the Rabbi's math.

Please consider this.......if your Jubilee does not happen on the 2015 Atonement as you expect, then rather than suggesting we wait another 50 years, perhaps we revisit our understanding.   Studying the scriptures (2 Tim. 2:15) will result in understanding.   In the absence of a clear understanding, I would look for patterns as a guide to understanding scripture.  The Rabbi's prophesy is looking like the real thing so far.  If reliable, the pattern teaches a truth.  Could it be a 50 year interval rather than 49 ?

I would like to study your "detailed version" of the Timeline.

April 6, 32 AD

I am in agreement that this 173,880 count is accurate.   So, let's proceed on this assumption.   Count back from this day April 6, 32 AD for a period 1,260 days.   Do we find Jesus in the Temple teaching Isaiah 61:1 and 2a on this preceding day ?  Is the "acceptable year of the Lord" a Jubilee year. Is the Day of Atonement  in 28 AD the beginning of the Jubilee year ?
