THE ONLY 'OLD TESTAMENT' PROPHECY THAT JESUS QUOTED IN THE 'NEW TESTAMENT'
THE
ONLY Old Testament prophecy that Jesus quoted in the New Testament
should indicate to us how important it is to Him. Therefore it should
also show us how important it should be to us !
"The Spirit of the Lord is upon me; because He has anointed me to preach.......to proclaim THE ACCEPTABLE YEAR OF THE LORD, and THE DAY OF VENGEANCE OF OUR GOD...." (The "Day of vengeance of our God" is also the Day of the Lord's wrath)
Luke 4:18-20 (Jesus speaking)
"The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He hath appointed Me to preach the gospel......and to preach THE ACCEPTABLE YEAR OF THE LORD. And He closed the book, and he gave it back to the minister , and sat down."
What was
inferred by Jesus, that day, is that THE DAY OF THE LORD will come in
THE ACCEPTABLE YEAR OF THE LORD which is also THE JUBILEE YEAR. The next
prophecy of Isaiah states that THE DAY OF THE LORD'S VENGEANCE will also come in the SAME JUBILEE YEAR as the REDEMPTION (rapture) OF THE CHURCH:
"For THE DAY OF VENGEANCE is in mine heart, and THE YEAR OF MY REDEEMED has come."
Therefore
we are told that THE DAY Of THE LORD will come in THE ACCEPTABLE YEAR
OF THE LORD which is THE JUBILEE YEAR , and also in which the
REDEMPTION ( rapture ) OF THE CHURCH will happen.
The next 50th SACRED JUBILEE YEAR will begin on the New Moon of Nisan 1, 2016 which is April 8, 2016.
