Sherry, I read your post with great interest and decided to re read the Revelation of Jesus Christ according o St. John.  I almost immediatly stumbled when I read Rev chapt 1 verse 18. That sure appears to be a description of Jesus. The first One that John met in his vision or experience whatever it was. It sounds to me that Jesus was there when John first entered into this experience.
