"Lights Out for the U.S."

Dear John and Doves -

I don't know how well known the following is, but it's gonna hit home shortly here in the U.S. with possible worldwide repercussions.

Thomas Edison invented the first commercially practical incandescent light in 1879.  This type of lighting revolutionized American life, as one might imagine.  However, this type of lighting has been effectively legislated out of existence as of  January 1, 2014.  The replacement, a device known as a "compact fluorescent light" or CFL, contains mercury (which is toxic) and also emit dangerous levels of ultraviolet light.  Searching the term "dangers of CFL lighting" will bring up plenty of information.

I see a spiritual side to this:  God's Word is His light, and the entrance of His Word brings light (Psalm 119:105, 130).  Because we have rejected His light, we are now getting toxic light in our homes.  Because we made His Word "illegal" in our schools, courts, etc. it is now illegal to have safe and healthy incandescent lighting.  (I was unable to find any health risks associated with incandescent lights; plenty with CFLs)

Not only is this, I believe, a frightening harbinger for the U.S. but I think there's a timeframe involved.  Obviously, people aren't going to convert overnight from incandescent lights to CFLs.  As the incandescent lights burn out, they will be replaced, and people will then discover that only CFLs are available.

The average amount of time an incandescent light bulb will last is 750 hours, which is just over 31 days of constant use.  Assuming people leave lights generally off in the daytime, use them in the evening, and then turn lights out when they sleep, we're looking at about three months.  If it's spiritually significant for the U.S. we will transition from healthy light to toxic light in just under 94 days.  That takes us to .... early April.

I see dark days ahead, in more ways than one.

Best,

Steve
