Hello Amanda, I'm truly sorry for your loss of your precious kitty cat. I have a beloved cat, too, and she truly is part of my reward and treasure from Jesus for serving Him. So I understand and send you love and prayers in Jesus' Name. May Jesus bless and lead you always. I firmly believe that we will see our pets in Heaven where the LORD JESUS abides.... Here are some things I believe the Lord Jesus showed me, and brought to my mind the past few years. I so love animals, and thought I would try to come up with as many thoughts and Scriptures as I could to prove the Lord's love for animals....These are my thoughts and compilation. I hope they bring you comfort. 1. He says "Ask anything in MY Name, and I WILL DO IT." - John 14:14 2. He says the desire of the righteous will be granted. - Psalm 145:19 Also that if we delight ourselves in Him, He will give us the desires of our heart. This can be looked at least two ways....firstly, that He gives us what we already desire.... And secondly, that He literally GIVES us, or rather puts within us, the desires that are in our hearts. 3. He comes back at the end [as best I understand, after the Rapture, when He makes war with the enemies at Megiddo]....riding on a white horse. (hence horses are in Heaven:) 4. The same Hebrew term for the Spirit/Breath of God, "Ruach" , is the same breath used for the spirit/breath literally breathing in and out of pets' bodies, just like ours. 5. The Lord spared more animals in Noah's Ark than He did people, and we know that Noah's Ark was a picture of the Rapture of the Bride of Christ. 6. The shepherds in the Old Testament literally guarded the sheep with their lives.... Wow....the Lord showed me this one recently....:) I had never really thought about it like that! I mean, men would risk their lives to protect those SHEEP!!! very sweet 7. The Lord showed me also the verse in Jonah about a year ago.... "But Nineveh has more than 120,000 people living in spiritual darkness, not to mention all the animals. Shouldn't I feel sorry for such a great city?" - Jonah 4:11 NLT 2007 8. Jesus literally made sure to surround Himself with animals at His birth. He actually allowed Himself to be born in an animal's abode. VERY INTERESTING 9. And one that I still am seeking an answer from the Lord about....not sure what to make of this/these verses....the ones that keep saying, especially in the Psalms, "Let EVERYTHING that hath BREATH praise the Lord"....animals have breath ! 10. The Lord says to go to the animals and even insects to learn WISDOM.... "Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise:" - Prov. 6:6 KJV 2000 "Even the stork in the sky knows her appointed seasons, and the dove, the swift and the thrush observe the time of their migration. But my people do not know the requirements of the LORD." - Jeremiah 8:7 "...the rock badgers are a people not mighty, yet they make their homes in the cliffs;" - Prov. 30:26 ESV 2001 NOTICE>>>>The Lord calls these animals "a PEOPLE".....hmmmm.....very interesting! "Beside them the birds of the heavens dwell; They lift up their voices among the branches." - Psalm 104:12 11. JESUS HIMSELF calls Himself a LAMB! WOW! He identifies Himself with an animal! And then calls us His sheep...so He identifies us with innocent animals as well! Contrary to popular opinion, and to my knowledge, sheep are NOT dumb....Do you think God would really identify Himself as a "dumb" breed of animal.... or us, His children? I think not. However, sheep are known for being docile, and easily being led astray... which would make sense of us as humans....and the quality of gentleness would certainly be ascribed to the Lord, as He describes Himself as being "meek and lowly", and that in coming to Him we will find rest unto our souls. Matthew 11:29 Also.....He is called the Lion of Judah....again, an identification with an animal....in vivid contrast to a meek and gentle lamb....He is showing us He is also strong, bold, and powerful. Praise God:) 12. Jesus Himself uses a parable about finding a lost sheep to describe PROFOUND AND GREAT JOY AND CELEBRATION ! "Now the tax collectors and sinners were all gathering around to hear Jesus. 2 But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law muttered, “This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.” 3 Then Jesus told them this parable: 4 “Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? 5 And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders 6 and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.’ 7 I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent." - Luke 15:1-7 NLT 13. Jacob was concerned for the life of his animals and their young. "But Jacob replied, “You can see, my lord, that some of the children are very young, and the flocks and herds have their young, too. If they are driven too hard, even for one day, all the animals could die. 14 Please, my lord, go ahead of your servant. We will follow slowly, at a pace that is comfortable for the livestock and the children. I will meet you at Seir.” - Genesis 33:13-14 NLT 14. Feast of Sukkot....Means Festival of Shelters. It was when the people of God built "booths" or shelters not only for themselves, but also for the animals and livestock! I just read these from Genesis the other day.... This really was neat to find out. "So Esau turned around and started back to Seir that same day. 17 Jacob, on the other hand, traveled on to Succoth. There he built himself a house and made shelters for his livestock. That is why the place was named Succoth (which means “shelters”)." - Genesis 33:16-17 NLT * AND here's one THE LORD JUST gave me a few months ago! It just JUMPED out at me! ********************************************************************************************* "Even the sparrow finds a home, and the swallow builds her nest and raises her young at a place near your altar, O LORD of Heaven's Armies, my King and my God!" - Ps. 84:3 NLT 2007 WOW! the sparrow builds a nest and raises her young at a place near the altar OF GOD!!! And of course..... "Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father's care." - NIV 2011 So....there you have it....:) Things the Lord showed me for making the case about how very important animals are to the Lord, and His kingdom....they are a very vital and important part of our lives.....giving love and affection even more than humans, many times.... Almost like the very Spirit of God moving through them to touch us Oh...I almost forgot! Here's another one the Lord showed me recently that REALLY jumped out at me! I mean I'd read/known about this passage for years..... but listen to this....really listen "The angel of the Lord asked him, “Why have you beaten your donkey these three times? I have come here to oppose you because your path is a reckless one before me.[a] 33 The donkey saw me and turned away from me these three times. If it had not turned away, I would certainly have killed you by now, but I would have spared it.” - Numbers 22:32-33 WOW WOW WOW! I think of that verse often:) The angel of the Lord would have KILLED BALAAM...and SPARED THE ANIMAL!!! If that's not saying something, I don't know what is! There also was a post I read where someone shared about a Rapture vision where they saw a little chipmunk go straight up in the air! VERY COMFORTING! Especially as I have been asking Jesus for awhile now to please let my kitty go up in the Rapture....why not? www.fivedoves.com/letters/oct2013/jan1020.htm Also a post where a woman saw her son's pet in Heaven:) www.fivedoves.com/letters/march2012/frankm331-4.htm May Jesus bless, keep, and lead you and your family always. May He bless all the doves and especially those who are grieving the loss of their pets, and John as well for this ministry opportunity. THANK YOU for letting me share these thoughts with you. I truly hope it brings you much comfort. May Jesus Sincerely in Christ, Rachel H. "I love the Lord, because He has heard my voice and my pleas for mercy." ~ Psalm 116:1 ESV
