All those in the World today who acknowledge Jesus Christ as their Lord and God and are live according to the truths of His Word, are the firstfruits of His creatures.
"Of
His own will He [Jesus] brought us forth by the word of truth, that we
might be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures.[James 1:18]
This
means before the earth can be renewed, the Lord is going to give
glorified bodies to all those who have His firstfruits in them.
"For
the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing
of the sons of God...the creation itself also will be delivered from
the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of
God. For we know
that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together
until now. Not only that, but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body."[Rom.8:19,21-23]
The
Holy Spirit proceeds or radiates from the glorified body of Jesus
Christ that's why the Lord didn't give the Holy Spirit to His disciples until after His resurrection, on Sunday the 5th of April 33 AD, on Firstfruits [The 16th Day of the 1st Month Year 33]
For on that Day He,
"...breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit." [John 20:22]
"...this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those
believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified." [John 7:39]
"Then
He [Jesus] said to Thomas, “Reach your finger here, and look at My
hands; and reach your hand here, and put it into My side. Do not be
unbelieving, but believing.”
And Thomas answered and said to Him [Jesus], “My Lord and my God!” [John 20:27,28]
Our firstfruits are from the Lord Jesus Christ, and he's going to use them to resurrect [those who have died] and translate [those of us who are alive], I believe, on the Day of firstfruits.
That's why we read,
"Christ is risen from the dead, and has become the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep." [1Cor.15:20]
All
those who died as believers, died with the firstfruits of Jesus Christ
in them. They are therefore waiting for the Day of firstfruits to be
resurrected!
In Paul's Day the saints were called the firstfruits of the city they lived in.
Achaia, a city in Greece, had many firstfruits in it and that's why Paul wrote:
"...you know the household of Stephanas, that it is the firstfruits of Achaia, and that they have devoted themselves to the ministry of the saints." [1Cor.15:16]
And again:
"Greet my beloved Epaenetus, who is the firstfruits of Achaia to Christ." [Rom.16:5]
In the same way, the Lord has His
firstfruits in cities all over the World today!
There
are the firstfruits of London, the firstfruits of New York, the
firstfruits of Berlin, the firstfruits of California and so on.
On
Firstfruits, which fell on Sunday the 5th of April 33 the Lord rose
from grave. On the very same Day the Lord also raised from the grave
many saints.
"...many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised and coming out of the graves after His resurrection..." [Matt.27:52,53]
It's
not a stretch to assume the Lord will raise from the grave once again,
on Firstfruits, all the saints who have the firstfruits of His Spirit!
