"The Famous Hanging Gardens Have been Located in the City of Nineveh; Why might this matter to us?"
Dear Doves,
Lost in the unresolved mysteries department. Filed in the dustbin of
ancient folklore, famously written about about in Greek manuscripts and
then hidden in the relentless sands of an all consuming desert. Every
serious student of the ancient world has sought after any modern sign of
the lost seventh wonder of the ancient world, the fabulous Hanging
Gardens.
They defied the wrath of the 21st centuries first great megalomaniac,
genocidal murderer and all around sicko Saddam Hussein; the famous
Hanging Gardens of Ninevah, that's right Ninevah have been positively
located both in ancient writings and in the ruins of that great and
wicked city.
A city considered so wicked by God that it became a target for complete
and total destruction in the Old Testament's Book of Jonah. Even casual
study of the vast royal library of cuneiform tablets left behind in
Ninevah speak volumes about the wicked deeds of it's ancient kings. In
fact, we get the English word 'terrorism' from the City of Ninevah. The
tablets merely confirm what ancient biographers have written about for
all ages.
Even God gets involved when He curses their city to complete
destruction, but later graciously relents after the Prophet Jonah
halfheartedly travels to Ninevah and calls upon that wicked city to
repent in sack cloth and ashes and be saved. To everyone's shock and
Jonah's dismay all of Ninevah falls upon it's face. The city is spared
from destruction for another generation.
Now here's where an even more curious question rises to the top of the
heap. The New Teatament states that at the time of the end, wickedness
would rise to a point rivaling that of ancient Ninevah.
God says life will become just like the Days of Jonah. Man will seek after a sign, but none shall be given.
We will be suffering from complete deception, yet the truth will still
shine out for all those paying attention. Those paying attention have
just solved a four thousand year old mystery by locating the famous
Hanging Gardens in ancient Ninevah. I don't think this mystery was
solved now and at a time such as this by accident. For some perfect
reason known only to God and National Geographic, we are told that God
will not leave behind a sign during these last days of Jonah.
I think He won't leave behind a sign pointing to Ninevah and our certain
destruction, because He already allowed us to rediscover the wickedness
of Ninevah and our future. Using the lost Seventh Wonder of the Ancient
World as a giant lure, God has graciously left all of those curious
about our past, present and future one final clue.
I would really enjoy hearing what all of you have to say. Be kind and
gentle, perhaps we can learn something profound here. I posted this
earlier on reddit, I would very much appreciate some biblical support
under the sub-reddit Archeology. Thank you,
Agape,
