"What does the scripture mean when it says, "unless the Father who sent me draws them?""

Hello, John and Doves,

It is written,

For no one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them to me, and at the last day I will raise them up.

John 6:44  NLT

Explanation:

It is written,

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

John 3:16  NIV

Observation:  The Father draws all men to Himself.  He is like a spiritual magnet.  The more iron [for which read:  faith] you have, the more you will feel the pull of the Father’s love.

What is faith?

How to get faith:

7Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. 9Grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom. 10Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.

James 4:7-10  NIV

What does this faith do for us?

It is written,

18For on the one hand, a former commandment is set aside because of its weakness and uselessness19(for the law made nothing perfect); but on the other hand, a better hope is introduced, through which we draw near to God.

20And it was not without an oath. For those who formerly became priests were made such without an oath,21but this one was made a priest with an oath by the one who said to him:

“The Lord has sworn
and will not change his mind,
‘You are a priest forever.’ ”

22This makes Jesus the guarantor of a better covenant.

23The former priests were many in number, because they were prevented by death from continuing in office,24but he holds his priesthood permanently, because he continues forever.25Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.

Hebrews 7:22-25  ESV
