I understood you  to say, you asked God to take you there, in order to warn others.
Christians being the worse to convince.

You also said (Vision)
A vision is one thing, But to say that individuals among the living pass from here to there, be it heaven or hell is different.
God can and does put these visions in our minds to prove us, you, Israel,to prove me, and prove them, prove what is good and acceptable unto God, and to prove sincerity of our love, and if we be in the faith, and to prove our own works.
God was gracious to David and revealed those things unto him.
Was he in hell?
Or did he receive a vision of what the fate of the wicked is ?

Paul said he would not glory in whether the man he knew of more than 14 years ago went to the 3rd heaven, that God knew, but he did not know if the man was in the body or out of the body, God Knew. He did not want to be up held higher than he ought. That the glory is the Lords.

I personally have had [similar] experiences. Often. As current as yesterday.
I feel the grass under my feet, and feel the sun on my face. Am I literally there in the flesh? NO
I am still in my bed when the vision is finished. These happen when I am about to go to sleep. Between awake and going to sleep.

Any time that God has "spoken" to me in a vision, it has been in [written word form, not a literal voice.]
Never a spoken word, and [these] are while in deep sleep.

Does he literally speak mouth to ear to others?
I don't know.

During the early nineties I would see a young boy about the age of 12 years. I would watch him play. I saw him often during those years.
I awoke one morning and while heading into the kitchen, thought on him, and wondered why I saw him so many times.
In 2009 I had another vision /journey if you will; and I was standing in the break room of some complex. When I looked to my left, there was a young man about the age of 30  round about, with two children. One in arms, and the other about 5  years old.
The young man saw me; and gave the gesture with his hand, which meant, "I haven't seen you since I was little. No words were spoken, but I knew [then] that it was the same boy I used to see in the early nineties, and he recognized me.

How can one explain that ?
I don't know.

From early childhood I have had these types of experiences, but never spoke of them. I didn't know that everyone didn't have them. To me it was normal, just an everyday thing like brushing ones teeth.
I never know when they will occur. Sometimes it is just like a snapshot when taking a picture, other times I am gone to another place somewhat as a witness to a scene. Sometimes the people and creatures I see; see me. Sometimes I am just a witness to the event. sometimes the individuals don't see me, I pop in and right back out. Some are very fearful and un-nerving, some though they be fearful sites, I am yet not afraid, while in others I am.
Some of these visions have come to pass in my life time. 
What does that mean ?
I don't know.

I have seen and felt "the thick darkness" written about in 9/9 mentions in the Bible. God refers to it as a swaddlingband in Job 38:9
It is a heavy darkness.
A darkness that pushes against any source of light.
Darkness that can be felt upon the skin, and upon the air about you.
The depth of the darkness is blacker than black.
A lamp upon a table could not fill a room, but rather only as a flash light when the battery is gone down.
Zephaniah 1:15  describes " that day".
And Joel 2:2
2 Chronicles 6:1   The Lord hath said that he  would dwell in the thick darkness.
Also in 1 Kings 8:12
Exodus 20:21   Moses drew near the thick darkness where God was.

Never did my body leave my bed. 
How can this happen?
I don't know

I guess one could say I am a veteran at this, but I still don't know how it happens. But it does. 
I can certainly understand Job when he wrote in Job 23:17 KJV

Because I was not cut off before the darkness, neither hath he covered the darkness from my face.
