"Jeremiah 49 verse 23"

Jeremiah 49:23

23 Concerning Damascus. Hamath (Northern Syria) is confounded, and Arpad (North Western Syria): for they have heard evil tidings: they are fainthearted; there is sorrow on the sea; it cannot be quiet.

Syria Misses Deadline on Most Dangerous Chemicals

The first milestone in plans to destroy Syria's chemical weapons arsenal by mid 2014 was missed on Tuesday Dec.31st, as shipments of the country's most dangerous chemicals did not make it to the Mediterranean port of Latakia.
The ships waiting to remove Syria's chemical weapons have returned to port in Cyprus, as the chemicals never reached Latakia due to bad weather, constantly changing lines of battle, and various road closures.
"We are still on high alert to go into Syria," reported Norwegian Defense Ministry spokesman Lars Hovtun. "We still don't know exactly when the orders will come."

And where might Israeli planes need to strike to prevent terror from Hezbollah?
The New York Times reported in Aug.2013 Israeli planes made strikes in Latakia where Assad was storing Russian made anti-ship cruise missiles.  American and Israeli naval officials consider the missiles to be a serious threat to their ships.
Syria successfully removed at least some of the Yakhont missiles from their launchers and hid them before the attack.
After the Israeli attack, the Assad government sought to hide the fact that the missiles had been missed by setting fire to launchers and vehicles at the site to create the impression that the strike had landed a devastating blow, according to American intelligence reports cited by the Times.

And remember back in September 2013 Russia's Putin issued warnings that any strike on Syria could lead to the possibility of turning into a proxy of tit-for-tat between Russia and whoever.
That applies even more so now, because of the bloated Russian Olympic$ in $ochi.
