Leviticus 23:9-11
Offering the Firstfruits
The Lord said to Moses,“Speak to the Israelites and say to them: ‘When you enter the land I am going to give you and you reap its harvest, bring to the priest a sheaf of the first grain you harvest. He is to wave the sheaf before the Lord so it will be accepted on your behalf; the priest is to wave it on the day after the Sabbath.
Sunday is always the correct day of the week for both Firstfruits and Pentecost, according to what the Lord told the Jewish people to do.
The true Firstfruits this year is March 31, 2013, Easter Sunday. It's the 6th day of Passover. The 7th day of Passover begins at sundown in Israel, which is still Easter Sunday and the Feast of Firstfruits in the US.
Jesus ascended to Heaven on the Feast of Firstfruits and brought the resurrected saints who had come out of their graves to offer them before the throne of God as the firstfruits. This is why Jesus told Mary Magdalene not to hold onto Him, because He hadn't yet gone to His Father, but later that evening, He told His disciples to touch Him. He hadn't completed the mission of fulfilling Firstfruits until the dead who had resurrected ascended with Him into Heaven to offer themselves before the throne of God the Father as the firstfruits. This day, the Feast of Firstfruits, is marked by God as the day for resurrection of the dead and ascension into Heaven.
Jesus said, "Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet returned to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, 'I am returning to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.'" John 20:17
"...and the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised; and coming out of the graves after His resurrection, they went into the holy city and appeared to many." [Matt.27:52,53]
"Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption to sonship, the redemption of our bodies.” Romans 8:23
"But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive. But each in turn: Christ, the firstfruits; then, when he comes, those who belong to Him."
1 Corinthians 15:20-23Revelation 14: Then I looked, and there before me was the Lamb, standing on Mount Zion, and with him 144,000 who had his name and his Father’s name written on their foreheads. And I heard a sound from heaven like the ROAR OF RUSHING WATERS AND LIKE A LOUD PEAL OF THUNDER. The sound I heard was like that of harpists playing their harps. And they sang a new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and the elders. No one could learn the song except the 144,000 who had been REDEEMED FROM THE EARTH. These are those who DID NOT DEFILE THEMSELVES with women, for they remained VIRGINS. They follow the Lamb wherever he goes. They were purchased from among mankind and offered as FIRSTFRUITS to God and the Lamb. No lie was found in their mouths; they are WITHOUT BLEMISH.
Esther 2:17 The king loved Esther more than all the women, and she found favor and kindness with him more than all the virgins, so that he set the royal crown on her head and made her queen instead of Vashti.
Genesis 6:8 But Noah found favor in the eyes of the LORD.
Psalm 77: The waters saw you, God,
the waters saw you and writhed;
the very depths were convulsed.
The clouds poured down water,
the heavens resounded with thunder;
your arrows flashed back and forth.
Your thunder was heard in the whirlwind,
your lightning lit up the world;
the earth trembled and quaked.
Your path led through the sea,
your way through the mighty waters,
though your footprints were not seen.You led your people like a flock
by the hand of Moses and Aaron.
