"TO MIKE W"

Hi Mike W,

You wrote,

"...if a person really believes Jesus took his or hers place on the cross for all past present and future sins, then that person is sealed with the Holy Spirit..."

This is false doctrine that is leading millions astray!

We are ONLY sealed by the Holy Spirit, when the love of God is continuously moving us to love others.
And we only really love others when we do them no harm.

This is how we fulfill the law.

This is how we keep the commandments.

This is what Paul, who you claim to zealously follow believes,

"...he who loves another has fulfilled the law."[Rom.13:8]

And just to be sure that those he wrote to new exactly what he meant by fulfilling the law, he continued,

For the commandments, "You shall not commit adultery," "You shall not murder," "You shall not steal,"

"You shall not bear false witness," "You shall not covet," and if there is any other other commandment, are summed up in this saying, namely, "You shall love your neighbour as yourself." Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law." [Rom.13:9,10]

The love of God, made available to us through the Holy Spirit, empowers us to fulfill the law.

"...the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us." [Rom.5:5]

Jews and Gentiles are still EXPECTED to fulfill the law as explained above if they want to inherit eternal life

This is why when a man came to Jesus, asking,

"What good thing shall I do that I may have eternal life?" [Matt.19:16]

The Lord didn't say, "Just believe in my death, on the cross [the reason I'm going to Jerusalem] and you will inherit eternal life."

No! No! No!

The Lord told him "If you want to enter into life, KEEP the commandmets." He said to Him, "Which ones? Jesus said, "You shall not murder,' You shall not commit adultery,' 'You shall not steal,' 'You shall not bear false witness,'..." [Matt:19:17,18]

The Lord and the Apostle Paul are in perfect agreement on what constitutes fulfilling the Law!!!

What has happened is that false teachers, through the years, have twisted Paul's letters and come up with a false gospel that teaches Christians don't need to keep the commandments, as long as they believe with all their heart that Jesus took their place on the cross, and that all their sins, past, present and future are washed away! And therefore deluded Christians conclude "living in sin doesn't condemn me and doing good will not save me! Wow! I Just love Jesus"

This is a complete mockery of what the Lord has done for us!!!

Is it any wonder why lawlessness abounds in the Church today?
