Jenny,
This may not be the issue with you, but I thought that I would share my experience in regard to not feeling the presence of God as strong as I once had. I have a tendency to spend too much time looking for signs of God's return through visiting sites on the internet and don't spend as much time seeking God through prayer and His Word. I have noticed that when this happens, I feel less a sense of His presence because I have crowded my time with things "about" Him rather than time spent with Him. When I back away some from all of the internet/prophecy sites and news sites, and spend more time chewing/meditating on His Word and talking to Him - I start feeling His presence again. Also when I try to look at things around me through His eyes and try to make my actions like His, it helps keep me in His will and I feel His presence their more as well. The other day my husband and I were talking bad about the president and I said, "Wait, would Jesus talk this way or approve of these things that we are saying?" We discussed it and decided that God has allowed this man to be our president for such a time as this. We don't know why and things may be terrible because of it, but it must be God's will so that all things are able to come to fruition as He has planned and we just have to keep praising God for His hand in our lives and in the lives of our country - along with praying that God will give the unsaved a willing spirit to seek Him and find Him before it is too late - who knows, maybe even our president.
I am still trying to get answers for you about your husband's struggle trying to get a job through USAJOB's despite his 20 years of service to our country. I have sent a message to someone for more information and will pass along any information that I get. Also I continue to lift your entire family in prayer. God has his own plans for you all.
God bless,
Kim D
