I work in a long-term care facility where hand-washing is second nature to us, or should be, although there are always people that are too lazy to follow the rules, as I have witnessed many times. Because I am a celiac (auto-immune disease) I take a lot of daily supplements and since I can have allergic reactions to undeclared ingredients, I have realized the value of large amounts of vitamin C in these instances. The interesting thing is that in a small school district this last week in my area, 27% of the teachers were sick with flu and only I believe it was 15% of the children. Also where I work, our nurses are working while they are ill (and double shifts day after day) because so many of them have the flu. If there is another cause, it's my guess that it is the vaccine itself, which I always waive. Appreciate any further comments on this matter.
