"To Charles re
"Romans""
Just wanted to share some synchronicity today. I was
prompted to check out Abingdon Bible Commentary from the local
library and have been reading the commentary on Romans these
last few days, just finishing it today. Then I decided to
read today's five doves posts and received the reminder about
things of the spirit are life and peace. It is all about
Jesus and what He did that we are alive now, having our
conversation/citizenship in the heavenlies, awaiting the
redemption of our bodies! It is all about the spiritual.
From the Commentary: on Romans 8. 1-11, at page 1153a, in
the section titled "The Supremacy of the Spiritual Over the
Material": "Christians have their being on the plane of spirit;
in this sense they are 'spiritual' (v.9). The new life which was
due to faith in Christ, a participation in his spiritual life,
was a life no longer on the material, but on the spiritual
plane, and was guaranteed by the fact that the Spirit of God
made his abode in the believer." So, no wonder your mind
goes to Jesus!
Romans 8:5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things
of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of
the Spirit.
