The Times reported on how the channel's coverage had "helped propel insurgent emotions from one capital to the next". Marc Lynch, a professor of Middle East studies at George Washington University, said "it's almost impossible to imagine all this happening without Al Jazeera." Or, as a spokesman for WikiLeaks tweeted: "Yes, we may have helped Tunisia, Egypt. But let us not forget the elephant in the room: Al Jazeera and their satellite dishes."

 

I have posted many times on them, they're good friends with HRH P.Charles and the royal family.  Now they're looking for markets around the World, and their money will open the doors. 

 On August 29th, 2005, Hurricane Katrina struck the Gulf Cost of the United States with devastating results. During a visit to the United States a few weeks after the storm, His Highness the Amir, Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani, pledged 100 Million Dollars on behalf of the People of Qatar to assist the victims of Hurricane Katrina.  

 

They'll be giving more money to foreign governments to deal with tragedies, and in return, they'll want their stations 'up and running.'

It appeared to me that the first Arab network to spread democratic principles and free speech would be accepted with open arms in the U.S.
