"What was Jesus' opinion about when He would return?"

Hello, John and Doves,

First of all, Jesus is The Word.
"The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth."  John 1:14

As such, everything He does is informed by the Word of God.
"The Spirit of the Lord GOD [is] upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to [them that are] bound;
To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;
To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified."
Isaiah 61:1-3

Remember, everything that God does is on a tight schedule.  He laid out His plans first to Adam, then Enoch, then Job, and then Moses, to name a few.

To Moses, HaShem said,
"And thou shalt number seven sabbaths of years unto thee, seven times seven years; and the space of the seven sabbaths of years shall be unto thee forty and nine years.
Then shalt thou cause the trumpet of the jubilee to sound on the tenth [day] of the seventh month, in the day of atonement shall ye make the trumpet sound throughout all your land.
And ye shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout [all] the land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubilee unto you; and ye shall return every man unto his possession, and ye shall return every man unto his family.
A jubilee shall that fiftieth year be unto you: ye shall not sow, neither reap that which groweth of itself in it, nor gather [the grapes] in it of thy vine undressed.
For it [is] the jubilee; it shall be holy unto you: ye shall eat the increase thereof out of the field.
In the year of this jubilee ye shall return every man unto his possession."  Leviticus 25:8-13

Clearly, the year of Jubilee is heavily bound up in the LORD's Second Coming to this Earth, His footstool.
"Thus saith the LORD, The heaven [is] my throne, and the earth [is] my footstool: where [is] the house that ye build unto me? and where [is] the place of my rest?"  Isaiah 66:1

Significantly, Isaiah 66 maps onto Revelation.  Therefore, it is clear that the timing of the events of the Last Days is wrapped up in the heavenly pageant--the Mazzaroth and such.  The events in the heavens have certified the reliability of the calendar to be found at http://www.aish.com/jewish-calendar/.  The year that the tithe for Jerusalem is due is the same as the Jubilee year.

There can be no doubt about what Jesus says,
"Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled."  Matthew 24:34
