As detailed in his documentary "The Mishkan Clue", Cahn associates this date with the "lambing season" in Israel,, signifying a "new beginning" and aligning the birth of the "Lamb of God" with the day the tabernacle was completed.
Cahn argues against a birth during major festivals like Sukkot (Fall) because If Jesus was born during a pilgrimage festival, Joseph would have been required to be in Jerusalem, not Bethlehem.
