Gary Stearman's guest in
this You Tube video on Prophecy Watchers channel is James De
Young. Their topic is the Rapture.
One thing they talked about
that I'll note here was the story of Enoch's
'rapture'.
God took him and "he was
not." James De Young noted a discovery he made when
studying "The Wisdom of Solomon", an apocryphal book found
in the Greek Old Testament that was about Genesis
5:24. "And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for
God took him." (The Hebrew for "took" is
"laqah". Or "laqach" means to "carry away, seize,
fetch, take away.")
The author of "The Wisdom of
Solomon" quotes Genesis 5:24 then adds a second
verse - where he writes that Enoch was "snatched up" - and
uses the very verb that Paul uses in I Thessalonians 4
when he describes the Rapture - harpazo.
The Greek word used is "harpagesometha"; it comes from
"harpazo" which means "catch (away up), pluck, take (by
force), snatched away, carry off".
James De Young thinks Paul
"gets that word in part from knowing the knowledge of
"The Wisdom of Solomon"." In the New Testament,
"snatched away" is used three or four times for a
supernatural occurrence. Like when Paul was "snatched
away" to Heaven. And Philip was "snatched away" from
the Ethiopian eunuch.
"Snatched away" is a quick,
sudden occurrence.
Gary and James commented
several times on how many books of late have been written
about the Rapture - many are not pre-Trib. And James
said his books were written to tell of a pre-Trib Rapture -
too many books are not. His two new books are "The
Pre-Trib Rapture: Key To The End of The World" and
"Missed the Rapture?" - for those left behind.
