"Reply to Donna Danna:  Why Elijah Was John the Baptist"

Greetings, Donna,

This has been an interesting debate.  My response is what the disciples said to Jesus in John 16:30:  "Now we are sure that you know all things."  Jesus predicated His comment about John the Baptist being Elijah by saying, "If you can receive it, this is Elijah which was for to come." Mark 11:14  He did so because He has given us free will to believe or not to believe things in this lifetime.  Just like the issue of eunuchs, Jesus knew some things are just too hard for some humans to believe.

Having been raised by a minister of the gospel I know the religious community's position on the topic at hand.  It all comes down to a choice of who someone believes, God or man.  Our God is so great the heaven of heavens cannot contain Him and He created all things.  He is both past, present and future.  So when He speaks, I listen.  What He says, I believe.  I rest my case.  :)

"But I say unto you, That Elias is indeed come, and they have done unto him whatsoever they listed, as it is written of him."  Mark 9:13

And Jesus said unto him, "If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth."

Mark 10:27 "With men it is impossible, but not with God:  for with God all things are possible."
