Scotland, although part of the United Kingdom, has a seperate political party to that of England. As do Wales and Northern Ireland. The Scottish National Party (SNP) are a peculiar lot. They have coasted along for years on the vague promise to the Scottish people that Scotland would achieve complete independence from England. Which is a perfectly reasonable desire except that it makes no financial sense. The Scots enjoy far more 'freebies' than the English do. One example is free carers for the elderly.  Scotland would not have the means to offer their people the many perks they enjoy, without being part of the United Kingdom.

The SNP have been mired in scandal for years now. Financial shenanigans etc. Their previous leader, a Muslim man named Hamza Youseff, is currently on a speaking tour denouncing Israel. His in-laws were stuck in Gaza at the beginning of the current war. It cost a fortune to get them out and there are rumours about where he got the money and what strings he pulled. Needless to say, he was removed as leader of the SNP. The current leader is no better. As with the ruling party of the UK (Labour) the SNP appear deluded and not quite 'all there'. They bring in crazy control freakery laws like the one you mentioned in your letter.

I am sure you have watched the movie, Braveheart. The Scottish people, as a whole, are proud and hard working. They are fiercely patriotic. The total idiots they have ruling over them are not what they would have chosen. The media love to rub our collective noses in whatever vile law has been brought in by the corrupt politicians. Just bear in mind that a lot of news is exaggerated and used as click-bait.
