Prophecy is being fulfilled before our
eyes…
My original letter on this topic was
posted on April 14, 2024 (which
was unfortunately corrupted in layout), so I have edited,
shortened and updated
this version (Feb. 2025), because of Iran’s latest threat
below, and
Israel’s possible attack on Iran’s Nuclear sites this year!

The King
of the South
‘pushes’ at the King of the North (Dan. 11:40)
Iran’s Islamic
Revolutionary Guard Corps
(IRGC) General Ebrahim Jabbari said, "Operation True Promise 3 will be
carried out at the right
time, with precision, and on a scale sufficient to destroy
Israel and raze Tel
Aviv and Haifa to the ground."
"The
Great
Exercise of Prophet Mohammad's Power."
The Islamic Republic has Trump in its crosshairs with
assassination plans since the
president ordered a military strike that eliminated IRGC
General Qassem
Soleimani in 2020.
Today,
major
controversies surround the timing of the tribulation,
the identity of
the combatants, the and the reason for its
occurrence….
One
of the
sticking-points of interpretation that divides end-time belief
into two creeds,
is Jesus’ reference to ‘great tribulation’
(Matt. 24:21–22,
29),and whether
those words mean trouble
and persecution, or God’s wrath!
However, the
statement in Dan. 11:36b …till the
wrath has been accomplished… occurs in the
context of an ongoing
war between the
king of the north,
and the king of the
south,
cf. Dan. 11:40, culminating in a time of trouble, such
as never was since
there was a nation… and at that time (Daniel’s people)
will be delivered.
(Dan. 12:1)
Since these two kings
are geographically linked in
scripture, it is helpful to remember that following the death
of Alexander the
Great in 330 BC, the very large Macedon-Grecian Empire
was divided into
four smaller empires that ruled over the Middle East—two of which became biblically
important—
i.e., the king of
the North
who ruled the Seleucid
dynasty
in greater Syria,
and the king of the
South who ruled the
Ptolemy dynasty
in Egypt, including
the Kingdom of Judaea.
(Compare the maps at the end of the letter.)
In this connection, the
three ‘linked’ verses (highlighted
below) show that the traceable activities of these two
ancient and hostile
‘territorial entities’ are being revived in modern
times to fulfil a
similar scenario in the
time of the
end (i.e., during the time appointed by God) when,
what He has
determined/decided
will be carried out/concluded (Dan. 9:27b). So it seems
certain that a ‘modern
entity’ from within the territory
formerly ruled by the
king of the South
(Egypt, which includes Judaea/aka
the
Glorious
Land, Dan. 11:41 NKJV), will—at the time of the end—once
again ‘attack’
(Strong’s Hebrew Word 5055 nāgaḥ = ‘push’ KJV[1])the king of the North, who is the final enemy of Israel and God [cf.Dan. 11:36–39].
The context
hereis the discussion taking place at the
present time between
Israel and USA as to whether this is the right time for Israel
to destroy
Iran’s nuclear sites and programme, after Israel’s decimation
of Hamas and
Hezbollah forces in 2024, and because of Iran’s present
weakened economy and
defensive capability, after Israel took out Iran’s four S-300
air defence
batteries in April 2024, and October 2024.
At
the time of the end the king
of the South shall
attack him; [i.e. the
king of the North] and
the king of the North shall come
against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, horsemen, and
with many ships, and
he shall enter the countries, overwhelm them, and pass
through… (Dan. 11:40)
And he
[king of the North] shall
plant the tents of his palace between the seas and the
glorious holy
mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and no one
will help him. (Dan.
11:45)[2]
At
that time Michael
shall stand up, the great prince
who stands watch over the sons of your people; [i.e.,
Judah’s descendants, the Jews] and there
shall be a time
of trouble,
such as never was since there was a nation, even to that
time… (Dan. 12:1a)
So, according to Daniel,
in retaliation for this ‘push’
(KJV) at the Northern force, the king of the
north comes
against the king of the south in
vengeance, like a whirlwind; he invades several countries
and enters into the Glorious
Land, via an invasion and time of trouble that
contributes to the refining
and purifying of the people of God (cf. Dan.
11:35; 12:1–3).
This scriptural
portrayal fits into the present day
scenario faced by Israel following the barbaric attack on its
sovereign
territory perpetrated
by Hamas
and Palestinian Islamic Jihad on October 7, 2023.
[3]So, as well as
dealing with Hamas in
Gaza and Hezbollah in Lebanon, Israel has also pushed
back at Iran’s various
Axis groups and leaders based
in Syria and in Damascus (ex. Seleucid territory).
With
the onset of the Israel-Hamas
war in October 2023, Israel has increased its intensity of
attacks on Syria.
From 12 to 22 October 2023, Israel launched at least three
attacks on airports
in Syria, particularly on Damascus and Aleppo. Notably, Israel
carried out the
assassination of Razi
Mousav;I, a senior
Iranian general, in the Syrian capital of Damascus on 25
December 2023, and
Brigadier General
Sadegh Omidzadeh,
an intelligence officer with the IRGC Quds Force, on 20

It seems therefore, that
for the last sixteen
months (to Feb, 2025), Israelhas repeatedly attacked ‘pushed/gored’
(nāgaḥ
Heb.) the northern ex. Seleucid territories (i.e.,
Lebanon, Syria,
Iraq, Iran) with
growing intensity, and more recently via Israel’s daring
attack on the
Iranian ‘consulate’ building (annexed to the Iranian
Embassy) in Damascus,
Syria, on April
1, 2024,
which killed Brigadier
General Mohammad
Reza Zahedi, plus six IRGC officers
and several others. This was followed by Israel’s
notorious Pager
attacks in September
17–18, 2024, against
Hezbollah in Lebanon. Hence, through its repeated hostile
attacks within the northern
(Seleucid/Syrian) territory (via the scenario recorded in
Daniel 11:40),
Israel is surely
identifying itself as
the first-mentioned protagonist—the king
of the South—who becomes militarily active against its northern opponent at the time
of the end.
With the reciprocal and comprehensive
multiple drone and ballistic
missile attack on Israel by Iran on April
14, and Oct
1, 2024 occurring
in real time as televised by the media—this two-way conflict
appears to have
reached a perilous stage where escalating tit-for-tat
retributions between the
southern nation of Israel, and
the northern nation of Iran and its
remaining proxies in Syria,
Gaza, Lebanon, Yeman and Iraq could engulf the
Middle East in a wider
world war!
Furthermore, since the
fall of Bashar al-Assad in Syria to the HTS
(a previous Al-Qaeda affiliate), on December
8, 2024, this theatre of conflict has become even more
complicated:
Israel said it has
struck chemical weapons
stockpiles, and Israeli
troops crossed
into Syrian territory for the first time in 50 years
after an Islamist
rebel force siezed the capital, Damascus, on Sunday and
toppled President
Bashar Assad. Gideon Sa'ar, Israel's foreign minister, told
reporters Israel
attacked Syria's
"strategic weapons
systems," including stockpiles of chemical weapons and
long-range missiles
and rockets, "in order that they will not fall in
the hands of
extremists."
The strikes came after
the Syrian Islamist movement Hayat Tahrir al-Sham
[HTS] made an
extraordinary march from its base in the northwest and took
Damascus in less
than two weeks, sending Assad into reported exile in Russia.
Israeli Defense
Minister Israel Katz said Israel would "destroy
heavy strategic
weapons throughout Syria, including surface-to-air missiles,
air defense
systems, (sic) surface-to-surface missiles, cruise missiles,
long-range rockets
and coastal missiles."
Israeli Prime Minister
Benjamin Netanyahu also said
he had ordered troops
from the Golan
Heights into Syrian territory, where they seized positions
abandoned by Syria's
military "to ensure that no hostile force embeds itself
right next to the
border of Israel," he said. (Golan was annexed by Israel
and is
considered by most of the world to be occupied Syrian
territory.)
These recent
developments―with Israel being unhindered
in continuing to ‘push’
at
the northern territories previously belonging to the King of
the North―may in
fact lead to additional Turkish forces retaliating against
Israel’s
aggression in support of the new Sunni Islamist rulers in
Syria (just as
Turkey supported the previous ISIS occupation of Syria and
Iraq, in opposition
to SHIA Iran’s influence in that territory).
Whether it is a coalition
of Axis of Resistance
forces that rise up to challenge Israel, or
whether Turkey lends a
hand to the HTSrebels ruling in Syria, is yet to be revealed,
but according to the
scriptures, there will be a reciprocal retaliation by (the
present day) king of
the north, as a result of Israel’s push into the ancient
Seleucid arena.Only
time and circumstances will show if these
tit-for-tat skirmishes actually lead to the tribulation of
those days
that Daniel wrote about, which Jesus said would precede His Second
Coming to rule over His Kingdom.
…and there shall
be a time of trouble
such as never was since there was a nation, even to that
time. And at that
time your people shall be delivered, every one who
is found written in the
book. And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth
shall awake…(Dan.
12:1b–2a)
For then
there will be great
tribulation, such as has not been since the
beginning of the world until
this time, no, nor ever shall be, and unless those days
were shortened, no
flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake
those days will be
shortened. (Matt. 24:21–22)
Immediately after
the tribulation of
those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon
will not give its light;
the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the
heavens will be shaken. Then the
sign of the Son of Man will appear in the heaven,
and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and
they will see the Son of
Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great
glory. (Matt.
24:29–30)
So you
also, when you see all
these things, know that it is near—at the doors. (Matt.
24:33)
Thus, Jesus’ return to
earth will be preceded by great
tribulation, and celestial disturbances that will shake the
heavens and the
earth, during the Day of the Lord. (Joel 3:9–16)
