Dear Craig & Doves:
# 1 & #2 is what you posted. You may want to take a look at #3 which is a 23-week verse-by-verse study of the Book of James.
At the end of your post, you said "Bottom line: Prove your faith by what you do as James said, not what you say you believe. Coupled very closely with the doctrine of eternal security is how we are saved. It is by faith alone, as some claim? Or has scripture been doctored? James 2:24 says the exact opposite."
“Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.” James 2:24
Verse 1 of the book of James says: "James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting." The Body of Christ is not being addressed here.
Purpose of the study of Jamesa. To become familiar with a non-Pauline epistle – 2 Tim 3:16; Rom 15:4b. To learn the doctrine of the “doer” - the twelve tribes, and your neighborc. To handle trouble passages that cause people to err – 2 Peter 3:16
All the Best,Mike
