In reply to your 1/29 post only four? (fivedoves.com) asking if only Joshua, Caleb, Eleazar & Ithamar were the only ones over 60 that crossed the Jordan River, no they were not the only ones over 60 that crossed over the Jordan. Any male in the tribe of Levi who was over 60 would have crossed over the Jordan as well because they were not men of war. Levite men between the ages of 30 up to 50 all served in the tabernacle of the congregation. Forty years later after wandering in the wilderness those men would have been 70 up to 90 years of age.
All the men from tribes of Israel except Levi who were 20 years and upward that were able to go to war in Israel died during the 40 years that Israel wandered in the wilderness for not obeying the Lord. This would not have included any man who was blind or physically incapacitated. There were 603,550 men according to Numbers 1:45-46 who would die in the wilderness. They were from the tribes of Reuben (Num. 1:20-21), Simeon (Num. 1:22-23), Gad (Num. 1:24-25), Judah (Num. 1:26-27), Issachar (Num. 1:28-29), Zebulon (Num. 1:30-31), Ephraim (Num. 1:32-33), Manasseh (Num.1:34-35), Benjamin (Num. 1:36-37), Dan (Num. 1:38-39), Asher (Num. 1:40-41), and Naphtali (Num.1:42-43).
The males from the tribe of Levi were also numbered from one month old and upward according to Num. 3:39 of which there were 22,000.
Levi had 3 sons named Gershon, Kohath & Merari according to Genesis 46:11. Those males from age 30 & upward unto 50 years were to serve in the work of the tabernacle of the congregation. The Kohathites from age 30 upward to 50 were numbered as 2,750 according to Num. 4:34-37. Those from the sons of Gershon numbered 2,630 according to Num. 4:38-41, and those from the sons of Merari numbered 3,200 according to Num. 4:42-45. So all the male Levites from age 30 upward to 50 yrs. of age totalled 8,850 according to Num. 4:46-48. These 8,850 Levites from age 30 upward to 50 would have been 70 to 90 years of age 40 yrs. later when Joshua & Caleb crossed over the Jordan, and they would have crossed over with them. Since they didn't number those Levite males from age 20 to 30 nor upward from 50 yrs. of age who would have been 60 to 70 years and 90 years of age 40 years later when the Jordan was crossed, we won't have an accurate count of how many male Levites crossed over the Jordan River with Joshua & Caleb although we do know that there were at least 8,850 male Levites between the ages of 70 & 90 who crossed over the Jordan River 40 years later.
As for Eleazar & Ithamar who crossed over the Jordan with Joshua & Caleb, their father Aaron was from the tribe of Levi. Levi's son Kohath (Gen. 46:11) had a son named Amram (Num. 3:19) who was the father of Aaron, Moses & Miriam (Num. 26:59) Amram married his father Kohath's sister Jochebed (Exodus 6:20, Num. 26:59)
