A VERY interesting (short) article from Israel 365 regarding Purim - the codes - the signs.


We know that the holiday of Purim is normally very festive in Israel. Even the most sober and dignified tend to over-indulge over this festival.


Luke 21:34 seems to hint that many will be drunk or hungover - riddled with anxiety and the troubles of this world - when "that day" comes. Link below.


I know we all have our problems. The virus has exposed the vulnerability of our societies...our world. The USA is grappling with a situation that has the entire world anxious. The whole established world order is being threatened. We live in scary, scary times.


However - give a thought to Israel. Not only are they dealing with shocking political uncertainty. Fake news in abundance. They are dealing with severe lockdowns courtesy of the virus and their economy has been severely weakened. On top of which they have constant death threats thrown at them. Bombs and missiles. The sirens are employed often. The Israeli people live with the threat of war EVERY SINGLE DAY. Iran is nearing completion of a nuclear bomb and terrorists burrow tunnels into Israeli territory - determine to murder and cause havoc. Israel is surrounded by countries who want to "wipe her off the map".


I don't know about you, but I would also be tempted to get blind drunk. Just for a few hours of merriment and respite. And this is exactly why Luke 21:34 issues a warning for people to resist the temptation.
