Dear John & Five Doves,The calendar of festivals , as reckoned by the Torah , runs from Passover to Purim. Here is more about Purim Katan :It mentions,Quote "The culmination of all is joy. When the Jew concludes......when the “The Way of Life” becomes his or her way of life from morning to night and from Passover to Purim6—his every moment becomes a link in a chain of perpetual joy. She is realizing her purpose in life, actualizing her deepest potentials, and there is no greater joy." End quote.
Below, in the Footnote section, it explains:6.Though the Jewish year begins on Rosh Hashanah, the calendar of the festivals is reckoned by the Torah as running from Passover to Purim (Talmud, Rosh Hashanah 2a), and this is the format followed by the Shulchan Aruch. For the deeper significance of our “two-headed” year, see Our Other Head.
