Garry,Those were great questions.Were you thinking of the possibility that Colossians 2:16-17 is also hinting at the blessed hope?You said, "Was Jesus referring to the Feasts of the Lord in verse 16?".I agree with you, the feasts of the LORD were the holydays.There have been others who tried to convince me that holyday in line 16 applied to Valentines or Christmas.Those 2 days are not holy days, and neither are the catholic "holy days of obligation".Back to what you were saying, it is interesting about the new moon, taken with the feast of trumpets.Then in context of "shadow of things to come", and the "body is of Christ", the blessed hope begins to connect.Apparently the immediate application of those two lines was for the Colossian Christians.There may have been pharisaical groups judging them for not keeping the old testament laws on feasts and sabbaths.Which seems similar to groups today who judge Christians for worshipping on the first day of the week, rather than on the sabbath.However, the veiled picture of the blessed hope, that I think you may have hinted to, also may be there in those 2 lines.Again, those were great questions.
