I was studying the Book Of Esther - far more closely than I ever have. Link below. The website gives a summary and you can access each of the 10 chapters of the Book of Esther. It's an incredible book and shows how Almighty God is intervening BEFORE the actual threat has been issued. He who knows the end from the beginning of all things. Praise His Holy Name.
Esther has been written without giving mention to Almighty God. Most scholars agree that this has been done to highlight God's hidden hand in all things. Although Almighty God is not mentioned, it's blatantly obvious that He controlled everything in this story. As it is today. We hear all the vicious threats against Israel, emanating from the mouths of the Iranians - the anti Semitism spirit rising around the world etc. And, although Almighty God seems to be very quiet in all this current evil chaos - His hidden hand is working all things. This is the first lesson I absorb from Esther. SUCH a comfort.
The 2nd thing that stood out to me were the dates mentioned in this Book. The obvious one being Purim, of course. It's the other dates that caught my attention. It was the 13th day of the 12th month (Adar) that Haman sent out the edict to destroy all the Jews. This day, of course, is the date of Purim. Purim - which hadn't happened yet! It was still just a day. Then, on the 23rd day of the 3rd month (Sivan) the King Xerxes, approved the edict written by Mordecai (to destroy the people of Haman). The month of Sivan relates to our month of June. Then we end up back on Purim - the 13th day of the 12th month. The day appointed for Mordecai and the Jewish people to enact the destruction of Haman's people.
Judging by these dates - from Haman's edict sent out on the future date of Purim, to destroy the Jewish people to Purim proper where Haman's people were destroyed instead, is logically one year. Did this entire story only take place over a one year period? Purim to Purim?
The Iranians have been threatening to wipe Israel off the map ( a la Haman) for awhile now. They also hint that a date has been set. I found an interesting link from February 26th 2018 where Israel fought an air war against Syria and Iran. The war was described as "Brief and Violent". Link and details below. Purim 2018 was on February 28th. This war took place on February 10th. This was the first time Israel and Iran confronted each other directly since the Iran Revolution of 1979 and the beginning of the Iran Israel proxy conflict. Interestingly - Israel has been receiving overtures of friendship from a variety of ME countries in recent years. 2018 was awash with stories about this strange turn of events. Saudi Arabia, Egypt etc. Leading Iran to stick out like an enlarged sore thumb as THE enemy of Israel. Persia / Haman revisited.
If this coming Purim is marked for something incredibly amazing to happen (or incredibly dark) it will be for Israel. The Jewish people. Yet, we believers in Christ are grafted onto their root stock. Would it affect us both together? Or are we branches going to be cut off and harvested before Israel is attacked? The mind doth spin !!
