That post was very poignant and clarifying.
I was initially drawn to read it because of the title.
However, I forgot the old adage about the book, its cover, etc.
The post was a lot more than I thought it was going to be.
I'm glad that you brought up doctrine, it is quite shunned these days.
Yet, in Paul's pastoral epistles to Timothy and Titus, he used it 16 times, and once in the plural.
He also explained about where and how we get right doctrine:

II Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

I Timothy 4:13 Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.

Paul also mentions that end times aversion to doctrine, as well:

II Timothy 4:2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
