I agree with you 100%.

Jesus confirmed the covenant during his 3.5 year ministry.

Upon his crucifixion, that was the end of animal sacrifices for sin.

Once he was crucified, those other sacrifices ceased to be acceptable to the LORD.

At the end of Matthew 23, Jesus said:

Matthew 23:38 Behold, your house is left unto you desolate.

And then immediately afterwards:

Matthew 24:1 And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple:

and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple.

Jesus is going to catch everyone off guard, including the devil.
