As Christians we are no longer under condemnation for our sins..... But we are still accountable to God for all that we do and say.
In The New Testament we are now under grace (the favor of God)...... But we are still responsible to obey all that Jesus through The Spirit teaches and commands us..... We are not exempt from His discipline - refining fire.

"But who will be able to endure it when The Lord comes?
Who will be able to stand and face Him when He appears? For He will be like a blazing fire that refines metal, or like a strong soap that bleaches clothes. Malachi 3:2
