Call of the Turtledoveby Frances J. RobertsO My children, there is the sound of theturtledove going throughout the land.It is the voice of the Bridegroom callingforth His Bride. It is the wooing of theSpirit bringing forth a people for His name.Yea, it is the Lord of Glory, Jesus ChristHimself, drawing together them that areHis. It is the call of love, and they whotruly love Him shall respond.Like attracts like; and love has everbeen the test of true discipleship. Those whose hearts are fixed on thingsabove shall not be holden by worldlyentanglements (even though these bein the organized church). They who arelistening to the voice of their Belovedshall not be deafened by the cries ofmen. In a world that is filled with noises, each demanding attention, they shallhear.Yea, they shall even hear the tendercooing of the turtledove! Another maystand beside them and hear only thevoice of the preacher. Another may begiving attention to the opinions andarguments of men. In the words of thebeloved hymn-writer: "The love ofJesus, what it is, None but His lovedones know."Ye need not fear that ye will miss it.Be it ever so soft, ye shall hear. Lo,thy heart shall hear, and thy heartshall leap with joy. Ye shall be even asElizabeth when greeted by Mary. Theresponse was immediate --- an inner, involuntary response to the nearnessof the Christ, even while He was yetunborn and unseen by the world.I tell you, there shall be a revelationof My nearness given to My dear onesbefore My second coming.Anticipate Me. Watch for Me. Thy heartshall listen, and thy heart shall hear.I am not far off. I am looking throughthe lattice.* You shall see Me ---ye shallknow --- ye shall rejoice.* Song of Solomon 2:9
