"UNLESS THE LORD BUILD THE HOUSE"

“Unless the Lord build the house, they that build it labor in vain”.

There is much for us to think about.   The most important,  is what lesson is involved that God’s  Word would teach us about situations happening in these last days.

We know this: men will fail, and yet God will never fail.  His Word created everything, and His Word holds everything together or destroys what does not.

Paul wrote: "The God who made the world and all things in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands; nor is He served by human hands, as though He needed anything, since He Himself gives to all people life and breath and all things;…

In my thinking on these things, I believe we are witnessing a far greater moment happening at this very hour.   To our sorrow, many of the people of God have built temples around many ministries today who repeated the same pattern, over and over again.  Men fell into Satan’s trap and were lured by love of money, lust, and prestige, and were seduced into building their empires, bringing reproach and much harm to the body of Christ.  What they may have begun sincerely in building the kingdom of God, they ended up trying to build their own kingdoms.

Well I remember the time my son David took me down to  the famous PTL (Praise the Lord) theme park when he lived in N. Carolina.  It was Christmas time. The entire park had a light on every twig of every tree. Thousands had been spent to give that park its sparkle.  But I had just returned from a mission trip and I had to weep to see it, for at that time I did not have money to help a struggling village pastor in India put up a simple one room place of worship.

Jesus’ disciples were awestruck at the words He spoke as they stood, admiring the temple of Solomon.  “See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down”.

God took PTL down.  But the shame and reproach was left behind.

And He is taking down the stones of many such temples, even today.  I feel it is not a coincidence that we now see top ministers now in their prime, joining together with Rome to build a “One World Church” and in so doing, abandoning the foundational truths tens of millions  of believers have given their lives as living sacrifices to preserve.

 Paul wrote to Timothy:

“IN THE LAST DAYS many will depart from the truth, giving heed to fables AND DOCTRINES OF DEVILS”.
We should not be surprised at what is happening, but grateful God would allow us this time to examine our own thoughts and priorities,  knowing  He chastens those He loves. And if it is to shake us loose from our complacency, then we should rejoice.

Time is running out...
