According to Rashi the dividing at Babel was in the year of Pelegs death.  Recall Peleg means division.  He died at age 239 and his son Reu also died at age 239.  It would seem God is highlighting that number and Peleg.

Babel=Babylon

The bible is clear Babylon will fall in the end times.  I believe it starts with the descending of Christ.

Many messianic jews are convinced it is Feast of trumpets.  2015 is highlighted by God.

I believe just as there are types preceding the actual in the bible, God has shown us types in these end times.  Baghdad and the statue of Saddam Hussein falling I believe was a type of the falling of Babylon.

Revelations says the waters that the great harlot of Babylon sits on are the nations

This verse is a type of dividing of the nations

Whenever the descending or the rapture happens this is how I would assume God uses day counts from events.  They would perfectly mesh with His Word.  And there would not be just one event but multiple events that are types and each day count would mesh perfectly like this one.
