"One Last Prophetic Thought About Coment Ison"

Hi Everybody,

I would like to post one last thought about Comet Ison and its possible prophetic significance.  Ison was supposed to be the “comet of the century” and be visible even during the day.  As it turned out, it was a fizzle and most people (like myself) never even saw it.

Comets have always been regarded as harbingers throughout history – messengers warning of coming disasters.  This was especially true in biblical times when people did not know what they were or what caused them.  We should still regard comets as prophetically significant in that they are one of the signs in the heavens that God placed in the sky for all of humanity to see.  Doesn’t the Bible tell us to look for signs in the sun, moon, and stars during the last days as a sign of Jesus imminent return?

At first I was severely disappointed that Ison was such a failure as a prophetic warning.  The timing of Ison seemed so perfect as my soul senses that the end of the Age of Grace is at hand and that something really big is about to happen.  I honestly believed that Ison was going to herald the beginning of the tribulation and the beginning of Daniel’s 70th week.  Instead, it was a total flop, or so it seemed to me at the time.

Now it occurs to me that Comet Ison was the big, spectacular sign in the sky for all to see that nobody saw.  That really seems ironically appropriate for the time we are living in now.  There are so many signs out there that the Age of Grace is at hand and the rapture of the Church is imminent, and yet extremely few see any of them.  Perhaps God is making a statement here.  He has given us so many signs and yet so very few take note.  This is a perfect sign of the time that we are in now.

Perhaps we are a whole lot closer to the rapture than we really think.
