"comments on "Astronomical Discovery in Revelations""
Hi.
I read the article “Astronomical Discovery in Revelation”
recently. I had known for years that the woman described in Rev.
12 was the constellation Virgo. In fact what is described in Rev.
12 with the woman clothed with the sun and the moon at her feet happened
on the night that Jesus was born, September 11th, 3 B.C. You can
see it on a good star map. >From about 6 to 7 p.m.
approximately the sun was setting and it went through her body since she
was lying on the horizon, and there was a new moon below her
feet. Of course, this appears every year, but you can pinpoint the
year by other events described in the bible and other star and
constellation conjugations.
As I was reading my bible last night, I realized that the dragon
described in Rev. 12 must also represent the constellation Draco.
So I got on the computer hoping to find a star map to see where Draco is
in relation to Virgo. I was very surprised to find out it’s right
next to it. I found this article, and read about the crowns, and
what the 17s stand for in Rev 13. Very interesting! Also,
because of the size of the constellation, it does take up one third of
the sky. I am sure you are right and that it is all speaking of
constellations and measurements in the sky. According to Psalm 19
God wrote the redemption story in the stars before it was ever written
on paper. There is an excellent book on this subject by an 18th
century author who did extensive study on the word of God. His
name is E.W. Bullinger and the book is “The Witness of the Stars.”
