"Re: The Midnight Hour Is Upon Us"

THE MIDNIGHT HOUR IS UPON US

"MIDNIGHT" speaks of a spiritual peak: ripeness and maturity. It signifies a time of deep darkness, and the overlap of two ages. Scriptural events which transpire at midnight, point prophetically to where we are at the present time:

1. Acts 16:25-26 - "And at MIDNIGHT Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God; and the prisoners heard them. And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's hands were loosed." (Even at the darkest hour, intercession and worship flowing from the lips of faithful disciples, will bless other prisoners. The hour approaches when every fetter and chain will be broken off of all who are bound; Romans 8:18-19).

2. Job 34:20 - "In a moment shall they die, and the people shall be troubled at MIDNIGHT, and pass away; and the mighty shall be taken away without hand."

3. Exodus 11:4,12:3-31 - "And Moses said, Thus saith the Lord, about MIDNIGHT will I go out into the midst of Egypt...They shall take to them every man a lamb...And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses...they shall eat the flesh in that night...and unleavened bread...and thus shall you eat it: with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand...For I WILL PASS THROUGH the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt will I execute judgment: I am the LORD.And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses, where ye are: and when I see the blood, I WILL PASS OVER you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt. And it came to pass at MIDNIGHT the LORD smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt...and he (Pharaoh) called for Moses and Aaron by night, and said, RISE UP AND GET YOU FORTH from among my people..."

4. Psalm 119:62 - "At  MIDNIGHT WILL I RISE to give thanks unto thee because of thy righteous judgments."

5. Mark 13:35-37 - "Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even (this occurred on resurrection Sunday evening, 33 A.D., Jesus ascended with His sheaf of translated ones); or at MIDNIGHT(now: the barley harvest), or at the cockcrowing (later: the wheat harvest), or in the morning (dawn of millennium, the gleanings: grapes, olive harvest), lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping. And what I say unto you, I say unto all, Watch." (There is one general harvest, but different crops are ready to be gathered at different times of the year. There is an order in gathering the harvest; 1 Corinthians 15:23).

6. 1 Kings 3:16-20 - "Then came there two women, that were harlots...And it came to pass the third day after that I was delivered, that this woman was delivered also: and we were together..And this woman's child died in the night, because she overlaid it. And she arose at MIDNIGHT, and took my son from beside me, while thine handmaid slept, and laid it in her bosom, and laid her dead child in my bosom." (At midnight there is a "dead" son / ministry found in the bosom of the harlot).

7. Acts 20:7-8 - "And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, READY TO DEPART on the morrow; and continued his speech until MIDNIGHT. And there were many lights in the upper chamber WHERE THEY WERE GATHERED TOGETHER."(Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air (an upper chamber) and so shall we ever be with the Lord; 1 Thessalonians 4:17).

8. Matthew 25:6 -10 "While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. And at MIDNIGHT there was a cry made, Behold the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him...and THEY THAT WERE READY went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut." (The Bride is ready; she is the "first ripe grain" of the field. Firstfruits are "marked", sealed with the Holy Spirit. Then they are gathered, "caught away" together and taken to the temple in heaven. Then they are presented, "waved" before God by Jesus, our High Priest; Leviticus 23:4-12).

9. Luke 11:5-6 - "And he said unto them, Which of you shall have a friend, and shall go unto him at MIDNIGHT, and say unto him, Friend, lend me three loaves; for a friend of mine in his journey is come to me, and I have nothing to set before him?" (Those who are GOING UP TO GOD TO BETHEL, the "house of God", have three kids, three loaves of bread and a bottle of wine; 1 Samuel 10:3. These things all represent the power of His resurrection).

10. Acts 27:18-44  - "And we being exceedingly tossed with a tempest, the next day they lightened the ship, and the third day we cast out with our own hands the tackling of the ship...But when the fourteenth night was come, as we were driven up and down in Adria, about MIDNIGHT the shipmen deemed that THEY DREW NEAR TO SOME COUNTRY...Paul said to the centurion and to the soldiers, Except these abide in the ship, ye cannot be saved, Then the soldiers cut off the ropes of the boat (a lifeboat), and let her fall off...and when they had eaten enough they lighted the ship, and CAST OUT THE WHEAT into the sea." (We are approaching a heavenly country. If you want to survive the storm, you must abide in Him, stay in HIS SHIP. It's time to toss out the useless gear, "excess baggage", and "cut off" any device which has kept you bound to the earthly life; Hebrews 12:1).

11. Judges 16:1-25 - "Then went Samson to Gaza, and saw there a harlot, and went in unto her...And Samson lay till MIDNIGHT...And the lords of the Philistines came up unto her, and said unto her, Entice him...And there were liers in wait abiding in the chamber...and she made him sleep upon her knees...And he wist not that the Lord was departed from him. But the Philistines took him, and put out his eyes, and brought him down to Gaza, and bound him with fetters of brass, and he did grind in the prison house." (The carnal man who does not overcome his lust will find himself overtaken by the demons who dwell in Delilah's chamber. Samson slept on the lap of the harlot; the "whore" seduced him and wore him down; Revelation 17-18.The loss of the anointing, "Ichabod", resulted in spiritual blindness, bondage and servitude. The one who was supposed to be a deliverer, lost the secret of the anointing, and became a public "spectacle". However, his redemption came later).

12. Ruth 3:2-9 - "And now is not Boaz of our kindred, with whose maidens thou wast? Behold, he winnoweth barley tonight in the threshing floor. Wash thyself therefore, and anoint thee, and put thy raiment upon thee, and get thee down to the floor...And she (Ruth) went down unto the floor, and did according to all that her mother-in-law bade her. And when Boaz had eaten and drunk, and his heart was merry, he went to lie down at the end of the heap of corn and she came softly, and uncovered his feet and laid her down. And it came to pass at MIDNIGHT that the man was afraid, and turned himself;and behold, a woman lay at his feet. And he said, Who art thou? And she answered, I am Ruth thine handmaid: spread therefore thy skirt over thine handmaid; for thou art a near kinsman." (Ruth wanted a FULL REWARD; Ruth 2:12.The Bride makes herself "ready". She washes herself with the water of the Word; she anoints herself with the spirit in devotion and prayer before Him. She puts on the clothing of His righteousness, and gets down to the floor: the place of sifting and humility. When everyone else is asleep, the Bride is at the feet of Boaz, and there she is "covered by His skirt", a picture of covenant / marriage. See also Ezekiel 5:3).
