"MARCHING ORDERS"
MARCHING ORDERS
Willing recruits have responded; all have enlisted by choice.
Arising to the call of their duty, they hearken to the
sound of His voice.
A sounding alarm has awakened them; they stand with their
weapons of war.
They cover themselves with their armor, employing the shield and
the sword.
The music that they were accustomed to, no longer is cheerful
and sweet.
They rush to the sound of the battle, ready, alert on their
feet.
They abandoned the partying multitudes, uncertain of what lies
ahead.
Departing from apostate assemblies, to train with the soldiers,
instead.
And so they abide in the wilderness, outside of the camp they
will go,
embracing their orders and assignment, away from the world that
they know.
They are accustomed to obstacles; many a hardship they face.
All through the course of their service, they are strategically
placed.
Sentries are stationed and watchful, interpreting language and
codes.
Regiments stand operational; every one carries his load.
Classified knowledge is given; a secretive plan has been made.
If any should fall or is wounded, another one comes to his aid.
The brethren who gather together, bearing their cross and their
scars,
are clothed in humility’s camouflage, not flaunting their
stripes or their stars.
They carry their measures of oil, along with their rations of
meat.
Provisions arrive supernaturally; all of their gear is complete.
They know the ways of their enemy, who plots to destroy every
one;
he continually tries to distract them, but they have refused to
succumb.
Marching in place as a cavalry, a trumpet is blowing aloud;
they follow procedure and protocol, no dissention in ranks is
allowed.
A Commander in Chief gives the orders, and no enemy stands in
His way.
Inspecting the troops and their readiness, nothing escapes from
His gaze.
Every one stands at attention, as they wait for the signal at
night.
And when they ascend and are gathered, they are clothed in the
vestures of light.
They depart for their ultimate training, fulfilling the vision
foretold.
Special assignments are given them, as they join with the
warriors of old.
And so they’ll abide in His shelter, resting in safety, at last.
There in His tent they are hidden, till the indignation is over
and past.
And they shall converge with the others, to prepare for the
pivotal fight.
All shall assemble together: a display of His power and might!
They shall descend on the landscape, to gather the spoils of
war,
subduing the lawless rebellion, enforcing the rule of the Lord.
The wicked will seek to escape Him, when the Judge and His
armies appear.
Spies and deserters will tremble; the Day of His vengeance is
near.
