Second thought.     WHY would this assault on the corrupt Vatican
happen now?  Consider that the governments of Europe are drowning in
debt and on the verge of financial meltdown.  They look around and see
Rome with it ENORMOUS wealth accumulated through the centuries, and
realize the seizure of Rome's treasures could be the solution to their
conundrum.  What an appropriate time for the beast to turn and rend
the whore.
