Doves and Nicole, Great Peace to you in Jesus Mighty Name! Who sees a Prophet and how do we know? 1. Elijah did no great work in Israel because of their unbelief, and the powers of the day knew not who he was. Same for Elisha! (Luke 4:26) Here is the acid test for all prophets so that no one here may ever be deceived. Notice that the LORD repeats these instructions twice in the Deuteronomy law (Torah) and Deuteronomy in Hebrew means double, or repeat. Obviously. this is an absolutely critical instruction from the LORD that call for every believer to memorize. Jesus' quoted the context as well in MT 11;4-6. (Deut chapter 18, and specifically verse 18, Deut 13:1-5, Mt 11:4-6) In a sentence, the LORD says that what the prophet says must come to pass and he must lead the LORD's people into the kingdom of God, (free of charge, not building his own kingdom). Remember what happened to Gahazi and why Balaam is the poster child for all false prophets. He is introduced in Numbers as one who divines for money and builds his own kingdom! 2. The Pharisees and Sadducees did not know who John the Baptist was even though scripture was clear and he told them. (Isaiah 40:3) 3. And for awhile, only Peter was shown by the Holy Spirit that Christ was the Messiah. I could go on, but scripture is replete and complete with similar examples. And so it is today, Nicole, you know that the Malachi 4:5 prophecy is fulfilled before our very eyes and the entire global audience, yet few actually see it even though it is as obvious to you as the blinding morning sun. The LORD reveals His secrets to His servants and children and He changes not! (John 9:39) By the way, I have met the Mighty Elijah Prophet (Dr. David Owuor) on many occasions and even had the miraculous opportunity to minister with him at the Kakamega, Kenya revival. The Holiness of the LORD showed up and flattened everything in sight. Holiness is a requirement and not optional, Heb 12:14. It was terrifying to see thee LORD work through a human being and know that it is the LORD whose words you are hearing. I liken it to sitting under an exceptionally charged power line that crackles with electricity. Dr. Owuor is that high power wire for the LORD to communicate directly from heaven to earth so that the bride of Christ may enter. The ways of the LORD are most elegant and He always does things in such grand style. I love the fact that He chose an African (irks the religious establishment to no end, irks most Americans, and I am an American too, not to mention the prejudiced and racist). The Isaiah 19:19 prophecy is now fulfilled, where the gentile altar was prophesied to be found in the middle of Egyptian kingdom, which is exactly where Kenya sits today!
