"Question...[and answer]"

Hello, John and Doves,

Let me address a concern of some Doves who take things a bit too literally,
and yet, not broadly enough.

The Holy Spirit has proclaimed in our hearing,
through the mouths of many watchers,
that, "This is it."
This means, "Get serious about your salvation."

I am reminded in the Spirit of a few certain scriptures:
"Dear friends, you always followed my instructions when I was with you. And now that I am away, it is even more important. Work hard to show the results of your salvation, obeying God with deep reverence and fear."
Philippians 2:12  NLT

You may say, "What's the dealio?  Don't the scriptures say in the very next verse,
'For God is working in you, giving you the desire
and the power to do what pleases him.' "?
Philippians 2:13

I will say, "How do you think the Holy Spirit works?  Isn't it like the song that says, "He is a hurricane I am a tree bending...?"

Clearly, the Holy Spirit works in yielded hearts.  It is written (italics, mine),
1"And so, dear brothers and sisters,a I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.b 2Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect."
Romans 12:1-2  NLT

Unlike the deceitful claims of the changeling currently defiling the White House, true change--barring a miracle from the Most High--takes time spent living and breathing the Word of God, and copious amounts of it.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.....
Reminds me of a scripture I once read:
"The Lord isn't really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent."
2 Peter 3:9  NLT

As always, the Word of God has the last word.

~Blessings,
Mike
