"Matthew Henry: He had a bow in his hand. The convictions impressed by the word of God are sharp arrows, they reach at a distance; and, though the ministers of the word draw the bow at a venture, God can and will direct it to the joints of the harness. This bow, in the hand of Christ, abides in strength, and, like that of Jonathan, never returns empty."
That makes no sense to me at all. He must not have looked up the Greek word. It is toxon, From the base of G5088; a bow (apparently as the simplest fabric): - bow.
This is a piece of fabric. Fabric signifies that this person is a man of the cloth, a religious leader. The Pope also wears lots of fabric clothing.
Mat_7:15 says, "Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves."
As a badge of his office, the Pope wears a Pallium made out of wool (i.e., sheep's clothing).
Popes call themselves Pontifex Maximus, the supreme Pontiff, the supreme pathfinder or bridge maker, the High Priest. This started with Nimrod at the Tower of Babel.
Babylonian kings were both king and priest of the Satanic Babylonian Mystery religion set up by Nimrod (meaning we will defy), Semiramis and Tammuz. Nimrod and Tammuz (meaning secret, concealed, consumed, the fourth month, was born Dec. 25), who was supposed to have been killed by a wild boar and resurrected, were worshipped as Sun gods. Semiramis (meaning highest heaven) and Tammuz were worshipped as Madonna (meaning my lady) and Child.
Belshazzar was slain the night of the Handwriting on the Wall. God showed his displeasure.
Dan 5:25-28 says, "And this is the writing that was written, MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN. 26 This is the interpretation of the thing: MENE; God hath numbered thy kingdom, and finished it. 27 TEKEL; Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting. 28 PERES; Thy kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians."
After that, the Persian Emperor Cyrus took over and the Babylonian princes fled to Pergamos and continued to rule on Satan's throne. The literal throne from Pergamos is now in a museum in Berlin.

After the death of Belshazzar in 539 B.C., the Persian Emperor Cyrus conquered Babylon and forced the Babylonian princes to flee to Pergamum. They continued their reign there as priest-kings of the pagan religion of Babylon until Attalus III willed his dominions to Rome in 133 BC.
In 376 AD, the Roman emperor Gratian refused the title and gave that throne and title to the bishop of Rome. In 378 AD, Bishop Damasus was elected Pontifex Maximus.
Nimrod and Tammuz (Eze 8:14-18) were worshiped as the Sun god in the pagan Mystery Religion of Babylon. One badge of office of this pagan religion seems to be Nimrod's red cape. It is still worn by the Pope, the "pater patrum", i.e., the father of the fathers. Another badge of office of the pagan religion is the miter of Dagon, the fish-god. It looks like the head of a fish with its mouth open.
In Mat_23:9, Jesus said, "And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven."
Also, Jesus is "Called of God an HIGH PRIEST after the order of Melchisedec" in Heb 5:10.
Heb_6:20 Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even JESUS, made an HIGH PRIEST FOR EVER after the order of Melchisedec."
Heb_8:1 Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an HIGH PRIEST, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens".
Heb_9:11 But CHRIST being come an HIGH PRIEST of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building".
DANGEROUS WORDS
Pope Leo XIII said, "We hold upon this earth the place of GOD ALMIGHTY."
Pope Gregory IX said, "Wherefore, if those things that I do, be said to be done not of man, but of God; what can you make me but GOD".
That is even worse. These popes made themselves out to be much more than they really were. Considering the power of the Almighty God, this is not wise.

He conquers in the name of peace. Pope Benedict signed a peace agreement with the Muslims on April 27, 2009. He has visited them and prayed toward Mecca with them in Istanbul's Blue Mosque. He has visited the Dome of the Rock to pick out a place for his throne there. Lately, he has been given a seat in the Upper Room in Jerusalem. He wants to be head of all religions, not just Christians.
He showed his true colors when he visited Lebanon.

THE DRAGON, THE BEAST, AND THE FALSE PROPHET
Rev_13:1-10 says, "And I stood upon the sand of the sea (i.e., the so-called Holy See), and saw a beast (Satan) rise up out of the sea, having seven heads (Babel, Babylon II, Media-Persia, Greece, Holy Roman Empire, Ecclesiastical Roman Empire, and Babylon III) and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns (i.e., then it is during the Tribulation), and upon his heads (i.e., all 7, from Nimrod to the False Prophet) the name of blasphemy (i.e., Pontifex Maximus). Rev 13:11-18 speaks of the False Prophet. The next one had a red horse and was given a sword. Like the wheat and the tares they go out together and come up together but the tares are burned up.
