There's no need to try and read anything into the numbering of popes in any of Malachy's writings.  Malachy never numbered the popes.  Some English translations of his writing do, but he did not put those numbers there.

One interesting thing I thought of Malachy today was that his name can be spelled as "מלכי" in Hebrew, which would also be how you would spell "my king" in Hebrew.  And what did he write about?  Everyone that had ever been "king" of the Catholic Church!
