Nachman Chatupha gave a prophecy about what could refer to the Statue of Liberty and there is a video on it at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7mncBPJb2hI If that interpretation is correct, which one was he referring to? The one in New York, the one in Paris near the Eiffel Tower, the one in Bordeaux, or the one in Tokyo? There are 4 identical ones, as well as HUNDREDS of smaller replicas all over the world, but these 4 are the same size / prominence, etc.
The man who designed it called the one in Paris "my lady". That was the premier version to him, and the one he sent to New York was viewed by him as a mere copy of the original in Paris. But because life centers around the USA for most Americans, the one in New York is the only one most Americans even acknowledge as existing. And if someone gave a prophecy about the Statue of Liberty, he must have been referring to New York, because America is the center of everything in their thinking. Well...let's look at what he said and see if there is any clue as to WHICH ONE he was talking about.
He literally writes "the Statue of Rhodes" (also called the "Colossus"), which the Statue of Liberty was modelled after. But the statue of Rhodes was already in ruins when he wrote what he wrote. The Statue of Liberty was a recreation of that statue and was even dubbed the "New Colossus", and was somewhat modified to fit the symbolism of the designer, but more or less the same thing.
Lets take a look at what he wrote
Aramaic
English
צולמא דרודוס [דרודם] כד אתיהב לגרוס קריב אגרוס רומי למהרוס
When3 the Statue1 of Rhodes2A shatters5, Rome8 will be close to shattering soon9. Now in the YouTube video I referenced above, it quoted this as saying "The wicked kingdom", but he specifically says "Rome (רומי)", getting very specific, and not leaving it open to interpretation, not "the wicked kingdom".
But if he WAS talking about the Statue of Liberty, WHICH statue of Liberty is it? The one in Paris, Bordeaux, Tokyo, or New York? The context of the rest of what he wrote suggests the one in Paris is more key, because shortly after he wrote this he discussed war in Paris, Rome and Athens. Rome is not far from Paris or Bordeaux (both in France), and Athens is not far from Rhodes. Here's what he said only a few sentences later...
Aramaic
English
ס) סליקין מלכייא בחוקין פרסייא ותורכייא אתיין בחזקה ושבין טורכייא
Kingdoms will rise in parts of Paris and Turkey [and] Athens by seizure and what is between Turkey ע) עיר לתל תתפני ותוב לא תתבני דנפקית ביוני וכלא יפנה למדנרייא
a/the city will fall and be no more. You will not build from what comes forth in Greece everything facing the Mediteranean פ) פיפוס דרומייא כד אשתמע באלכסנדרייא ...
The outer fringes1 of Rome will be marked in Alexandria....
1There is ambiguity to this word, but he may be describing the outer reach of the revived Roman Empire as he sees it, saying it will extend as far as Alexandria at this time..Now lets ask ourself something. If the fall of the Statue of Liberty is given as a sign that Rome is about to fall, which one would make the most sense; Either of the two several thousand miles away in New York or Tokyo, or the one near it a few hundred miles away in a city whose events are linked to Rome in this same passage? I don't even have to answer that for you. Obviously, the one in Paris would be most relevant. Nachman Chatufa links Paris with Rome in this passage, and a statue in Paris with the fall of Rome in another sentence.
And here's another thought. In November of 2008, it was announced that Greece would rebuild the Colossus of Rhodes! Once again, not much said about that in the American press because....well...that happened somewhere else. And most Americans have no idea what the Colossus of Rhodes was because....that's not part of American history.

Joe
