Barry,
Thank you very much for your response.
I really liked how you were honest in speaking about yourself.
Most of us probably couldn’t have written that negatively about ourselves.
Our old Adamic nature won’t let us.
I also really liked how you distinguished worth from law keeping, that was well done.
You had summed everything up as follows:
In conclusion, I believe in a “partial” rapture from the standpoint that not all Christians will be raptured but only those who have been obedient to Jesus’ leadings in their lives because they have made Him the Lord of their life. Remember, Jesus said the difference between the wise and the foolish who were both building a house was that the wise heard His words and did what He said while the foolish also heard His words but did them not.
How obedient? 100.000% obedient?
Similar to what I wrote to Mike W, I had never met anyone who is 100.000% obedient.
Even the apostle Paul, in Romans 7:15-20 showed where he also was not 100.000% obedient.
So I could then only think of four possibilities:
1) A lower % threshold of obedience, as necessary for qualification, 90%, 80%, or even lower
2) A division into greater obedience & lesser obedience, similar to the Catholic teaching of mortal sins & venial sins
3) Or also like the Catholic teaching of dying in a state of grace, in this case dying in a state of worthiness based on obedience, quickly before coming out of that state by an act of disobedience
4) Actually believing oneself to be 100.000% obedient
Am I way off in this thinking?
Thank you,
Gino
