Mike,
Thank you so much for your response.
That is the way that I have always believed it to be, also, you just laid it out better than I would have.
I had been interested in someone who could really use the scriptures to show why they so strongly believe in the partial rapture.
However, until now, I had never met anyone who believed it & yet was convinced that they were not going.
Similar to those who believe that we also have to do something (obey a commandment or get baptized) to get saved,
those who teach that are always those who count themselves to be in that number,
in a similar way, everyone that I’ve ever come across, who teach a partial rapture, based on “worthiness”,
always are those who happen to also include themselves in that number, of the worthy ones who are going.
Since I have not ever met anyone who is 100.000% obeying (even Paul - Romans 7:15-20), or 100.000% surrendered, or 100.000% submitted,
then it must come down to one of four things that supplement that teaching:
1) A lower % threshold, as necessary for qualification, 90%, 80%, or even lower
2) A division into greater & lesser, similar to the Catholic teaching of mortal sins & venial sins
3) Or also like the Catholic teaching of dying in a state of grace, in this case dying in a state of worthiness, quickly before coming out of that state
4) They actually believe themselves to be 100.000% obeying, surrendered, and submitted
Beyond these, I cannot understand how someone who believes in a partial rapture, based on worthiness, could count themselves in that number.
Thank you,
Gino
