I did a word search on "holy place."  In every instance except two,
the reference is obiviously "the holy place"  or "the most Holy Place"
aka the Holy of Holys.

The two exceptions, one in Psalms which was a bit vague as to whether
or not the reference was to the Holy Place of the temple, and the
other in Hebrews where the writer is referring to the heavenly Holy
Place, of which the earthly Holy Place is a shadow.

So, my own personal conclusion is that Jesus meant the Holy Place
within the temple when He spoke of the abomination.

Just my own conclusion.
